What makes this system better than others on the market?

KegSafe is not a flowmeter, and it doesn’t use scales. Flowmeters need a starting level before they can estimate the keg level, and they can only give an estimate since they subtract the amount of beer that flows out of a keg without knowing exactly how much they had in the beginning. Foam and other issues also affect flowmeters.  Scale systems require lifting and do not give real levels at all times. With varying weights related to beer dispensing systems, scales can not be as accurate as a true level. KegSafe monitors the level using microseconds to obtain very accurate real-time levels.  KegSafe is a true inventory level device.

Is KegSafe accurate?

YES! The KegSafe system is extremely accurate and can see a change of 1 ounce.

What do I need in my keg room for KegSafe to work?

KegSafe needs 110 VAC (typical AC power in order to plug in base unit) and a cable to connect the unit to the internet.

What is a typical configuration?

The base unit has inputs to monitor up to 8 kegs, which can easily be expanded to monitor as many kegs as needed. Cables connect the base unit to each keg.

Does KegSafe go inside my keg?

NO. KegSafe is a patent-pending technology that is non-intrusive and never comes in contact with the beer.

Is foam a problem for KegSafe?

NO. Foam does not affect the operation of KegSafe.

Will KegSafe prevent “blowing the lines” and making a mess?

YES! KegSafe alerts users when the beer level is close to the point where the lines will be filled with CO2.

Does KegSafe work with all sizes of kegs?

YES! KegSafe works with all sizes of kegs: 1/2 kegs, 1/4 kegs, and 1/6 kegs.

Do you have to start with a full keg?

NO. KegSafe can be started on any keg at any time. KegSafe provides an actual level at all times. Not so with flowmeters.

Who developed KegSafe?

Mark McCoy, owner and founder of KegSafe, is an engineer and an expert in sonar level detection. He’s been using ultrasonic transducers and the related technology for more than 25 years in other applications (or fields). He has now put his expertise and knowledge into developing KegSafe to help bar and restaurant owners track inventory in their kegs. He launched KegSafe in 2017.
